For All Time and Eternity

So Daryl just graduated from Air Force Basic Military Training and is now in Mississippi starting his Air Traffic Controller classes.  So we will be moving in the next few months to where ever he will be stationed and of course we won't know that place until a month before we leave.  So, our house is up for rent.

*  3/2/2 house in South Arlington Texas in the Mansfield Independent School District.
*  This house is approximately 1660 sqft and resides on a culdesac.
*  Great neighborhood for families.
*  The house has a bright open floor plan with Walk in Closets.
*  The main living room has a large brick wood burning fireplace with a mantle.
*  The kitchen is very open and also has  a separate kitchen dining area.
*  It comes with washer/dryer hook-up.
*  All bedrooms are spacious and a nice backyard.
*  Carpets have been newly cleaned and paint looks great.

Animals welcome with pet deposit of $200.  Security deposit of $1000 due at signing.

Feel free to call and schedule a time to come take a look.

Daryl just found out that he was approved to get into the Air Force.  It's been a long and frustrating process and seems like it is finally time.  He went down to MEPS last week and passed everything and picked his 'top 7 jobs'.  We won't hear anything for about two months.  At that point they'll let him know what job he was chosen for and when he will ship off to basic training.  They said that the average wait time to ship to basic is 4 - 6 months.
This is a huge change.  Once he goes off to basic and graduates he'll go to technical training school . . . then I'll be able to move to his first duty station.  So my job will be to stay here and continue to work and get the house ready for either rent or sale.  We have lots to do until then.  One of those things involving making an inventory of everything we want shipped.  I'm talking pictures, receipts, prices, etc.  A big undertaking.  Although we do live in a three bedroom house, we have no furniture in two of our bedrooms... just piled with papers.  Now that will be a job!
I'm very excited and nervous all at the same time.  I don't know what to expect but that also makes it fun.
Daryl would like to be stationed outside the US.  So who knows. . . by this time next year I could be living in another country!
Daryl and I are trying to potty train our two new puppies. It's been a bit difficult but they are slowly getting there. They love to play with Sugar and Slinky. Here are a few picturs of the new members of our family.
These are our puppies with their new collars. Motzarella on the left. Gouda on the right.
Motzarella loves to get Gouda by the collar.

They love to sleep on you.

Gouda actually got into the cage with Slinky. It doesn't look like Slinky welcomed her in. :)

Cute pic of Motz.

This was after they got punished for peeing in the house and put outside. Gouda got on the windowsill which is quite a way up from the ground. She's a good climber. And she started to howl. lol

Well, we have finally moved into our new home. It feel so wonderful to have a place of our own and know that we'll be here for a while. :) The house was supposed to close on the 19th of March and we were told that there were problems with getting the title clear on the house so they wanted to postpone it until April. Well, we had been out of our apartment for two weeks by that time and staying with my Aunt and Uncle. We couldn't wait another three weeks to wait to move into the house so we started looking for apartments. We found one that we were going to sign papers to the next day and say goodbye to the house. Later that day I got a call from my realtor saying to be ready in three hours to close on the house. We couldn't believe it! So, ever since that point we've been working on the house... cleaning, painting, repairing holes, installing light fixtures, etc. We've been working on it for about a week and a half now. Here are some picutres of our the repairs we've done to the house. :) Enjoy!This was a horribly looking green door. We had to change the locks on all the doors so that we could get into the house since it was a foreclosure. We got some really nice locks and painted it a pretty white color. You can see the nice sized hole in the wall right behind the door.

This is where the big hole was. You can't even tell it was even there. :)
We got new lights for the front door and the back door.

This is the front door completely done. Painted, new light, and a new door bell.

The joys of masking. Yuck!

Daryl after he painted the back two rooms and the bathroom.
Well Daryl and I have two days left in our apartment that we've been at for a year. We are going to be moving the rest of the big stuff tomorrow back into our storage unit. Couch, TV, desk, Washer, Dryer, Table, etc. If everything goes well with the house we'll be closing on March 19th, but our contract is up here at the apartment on the 5th. So, my aunt and uncle have been kind enough to let us stay at their house for two weeks with the cat and the ferret. We are really excited to move into our new house but are also excited that we do get some quality time with family here in Texas. We should find out a few days before the 19th whether or not we'll be closing on the house. Daryl and I have our fingers and toes crossed and hope to finally have a stable place we can call our own.
Our offer was accepted on the first house out of the two that we loved. I just can't believe it, it seemed like nothing was ever going to work. We are so excited that it is the first one instead of the second one because we didn't like that one as much. We move into our new place around March 12th or so. Here are a few pictures of our new home. :)

The house is on a nice culdesac in a very quiet neighborhood.

Well our internet has been turned off for about a week and a half. I've been really excited to back back on here. And what a week it has been. Daryl's grandmother passed away last week and we went to California to go to the funeral. Even though she wasn't my grandmother, Daryl and I spent a lot of time with her when we were taking care of his grandfather. We became very close. I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to go but fortunately I got the days off of work. It was so nice to be able to be there for that and to see the rest of Daryl's family.

I also had the chance to see my family again. It's been almost a year since I have seen them. And I don't want to go another year again. It was soo nice to see them.. I miss them so very much. It's so hard not being able to just drive over and say hi.

As far as the house we've been trying to get. Boy, has that been a nightmare. The house I was really excited about, the one with all the pictures that I posted, is no longer available. Someone offered more than we did and we were outbid. We went out looking for another one the next day and found three that we liked. We were ready to put bids on the houses and found out the first one already had 5 bids and the second and third had 3 bids. All of them overprice as well. After that Daryl and I got a bit discouraged. We decided to take one more look before we left for California. We looked at 3 houses and liked 2 of them. The first one we liked we put an offer in and find out tomorrow! And the second one we liked we filled out the paperwork already so that if the first one falls through we'll just send the offer in on the second right away. So, we have two that could possibly work out. So, we'll wait and see what our realtor says tomorrow!
