For All Time and Eternity

Daryl and I are trying to potty train our two new puppies. It's been a bit difficult but they are slowly getting there. They love to play with Sugar and Slinky. Here are a few picturs of the new members of our family.
These are our puppies with their new collars. Motzarella on the left. Gouda on the right.
Motzarella loves to get Gouda by the collar.
Daryl in the backyard with the pups.

They love to sleep on you.

Gouda actually got into the cage with Slinky. It doesn't look like Slinky welcomed her in. :)

Cute pic of Motz.

This was after they got punished for peeing in the house and put outside. Gouda got on the windowsill which is quite a way up from the ground. She's a good climber. And she started to howl. lol

Well, we have finally moved into our new home. It feel so wonderful to have a place of our own and know that we'll be here for a while. :) The house was supposed to close on the 19th of March and we were told that there were problems with getting the title clear on the house so they wanted to postpone it until April. Well, we had been out of our apartment for two weeks by that time and staying with my Aunt and Uncle. We couldn't wait another three weeks to wait to move into the house so we started looking for apartments. We found one that we were going to sign papers to the next day and say goodbye to the house. Later that day I got a call from my realtor saying to be ready in three hours to close on the house. We couldn't believe it! So, ever since that point we've been working on the house... cleaning, painting, repairing holes, installing light fixtures, etc. We've been working on it for about a week and a half now. Here are some picutres of our the repairs we've done to the house. :) Enjoy! This was a horribly looking green door. We had to change the locks on all the doors so that we could get into the house since it was a foreclosure. We got some really nice locks and painted it a pretty white color. You can see the nice sized hole in the wall right behind the door.

This is where the big hole was. You can't even tell it was even there. :)
We got new lights for the front door and the back door.

This is the front door completely done. Painted, new light, and a new door bell.

The joys of masking. Yuck!

Daryl after he painted the back two rooms and the bathroom.
Well Daryl and I have two days left in our apartment that we've been at for a year. We are going to be moving the rest of the big stuff tomorrow back into our storage unit. Couch, TV, desk, Washer, Dryer, Table, etc. If everything goes well with the house we'll be closing on March 19th, but our contract is up here at the apartment on the 5th. So, my aunt and uncle have been kind enough to let us stay at their house for two weeks with the cat and the ferret. We are really excited to move into our new house but are also excited that we do get some quality time with family here in Texas. We should find out a few days before the 19th whether or not we'll be closing on the house. Daryl and I have our fingers and toes crossed and hope to finally have a stable place we can call our own.
Our offer was accepted on the first house out of the two that we loved. I just can't believe it, it seemed like nothing was ever going to work. We are so excited that it is the first one instead of the second one because we didn't like that one as much. We move into our new place around March 12th or so. Here are a few pictures of our new home. :)

The house is on a nice culdesac in a very quiet neighborhood.

Front Entry and Dining room on left. Past the front door is the walkway to the two rooms in the back and bathroom. To the right is the walkway to the Master Bedroom.

Well our internet has been turned off for about a week and a half. I've been really excited to back back on here. And what a week it has been. Daryl's grandmother passed away last week and we went to California to go to the funeral. Even though she wasn't my grandmother, Daryl and I spent a lot of time with her when we were taking care of his grandfather. We became very close. I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to go but fortunately I got the days off of work. It was so nice to be able to be there for that and to see the rest of Daryl's family.

I also had the chance to see my family again. It's been almost a year since I have seen them. And I don't want to go another year again. It was soo nice to see them.. I miss them so very much. It's so hard not being able to just drive over and say hi.

As far as the house we've been trying to get. Boy, has that been a nightmare. The house I was really excited about, the one with all the pictures that I posted, is no longer available. Someone offered more than we did and we were outbid. We went out looking for another one the next day and found three that we liked. We were ready to put bids on the houses and found out the first one already had 5 bids and the second and third had 3 bids. All of them overprice as well. After that Daryl and I got a bit discouraged. We decided to take one more look before we left for California. We looked at 3 houses and liked 2 of them. The first one we liked we put an offer in and find out tomorrow! And the second one we liked we filled out the paperwork already so that if the first one falls through we'll just send the offer in on the second right away. So, we have two that could possibly work out. So, we'll wait and see what our realtor says tomorrow!

Well, Daryl and I found a home that we loved a week ago and put an offer in. We were in constant nervousness for 2 days waiting to see if they had accepted. But, unfortunantely they did not except. Daryl was so sad he went on a chocolate eating binge and ate a huge solid Hersey Kiss and an entire package of Cherry Cordials. Ummm... yah. So, we went out this morning to see 8 more possibilities. And we did find one that we fell in love with. So we just put in another offer and should find out on Friday if it was accepted or not. We love the area and the floor layout. It has a living and dining room with three floors and two baths on the first floor. There are some stairs off the kitchen that lead up to a huge gameroom and half bath on the second story. It also has a huge backyard. Here are some pictures of the house. We'll be in constant nervousness until Friday afternoon. We are really hoping that this one works out.

This is the front living room with the nice fireplace and mantle. This is looking from the kitchen

This is the kitchen with the nice sized cabinets and tile. On the other side of the island is a place for stools. And added onto this room is more tile and a place for the kitchen table.

These are the stairs to the second story gameroom and half bath. This is also looking from the kitchen. It has a nice sized closet underneath the stairs.

This is the nice sized backyard. Needs some work on the grass. To the left that you can't see in the picture the fence is actually brick which borders the sidewalk which is nice.

We've opened our possibilities and have found some more houses that we are interested in. We are going to go take a look at them on Sunday and make a decision. Here are some of the pictures of a few of the houses we are interested in.
Well, I talked to a home loan person today and apparently Daryl and I qualify for a home on our own without a cosigner. :) Who would've known. lol So, we are officially looking for a home of our own. We want to put an offer on the previous house stated but are just making sure by looking at some other homes in the area. So, we could be in our own home come March! I'm so unbelievably excited!

Well, we just came back from looking at a possible house and we loved it. It's in a nice area and is a good size for us and for a growing family. :) It has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths and a big backyard. We're going to call the mortgage company tomorrow and see if it's a possibility. So far though in our time in searching it's one of the only two story homes in our price range. So... we'll see if we get anywhere tomorrow.
Daryl and I went to go see a movie today. We saw Yes Man. We got a movie gift card for Christmas from my Aunt and Uncle and we've used it a lot. Yes Man was pretty good. It had some parts I didn't like but all in all it was good. We snuck in Wendy's chicken nuggets and had a small feast :). We're going to be going to go look at a house for sale over in Arlington tonight. We're going to be moving in March and are trying to find a townhome/condo to rent out for the next year or so while Daryl is going to school. We've been trying to find a house to buy as well but just haven't seen anything out there yet for us. We've already put in our 60 day notice in at the apartments we're at now. So, we'll be moving out by March 5th and haven't exactly picked a place yet. But, we'll keep on looking. We'll find something eventually. It is a bit scary though not knowing where we're going to go come March 5th.
I've been messing around with the features and settings and I believe I've finally gotten the hang of "blogging". I'm excited to start writing. Now we'll just see if anyone finds it interesting. :) I'll tell my family about it and hopefully they come on to see it. It'll be a nice way to keep in touch with family since they are all the way back in California.
My friend at work showed me this new blogspot space and I wanted to give it a try. Let's see if I can figure this thing out.
